MyoVISION
Here are some frequently asked questions about our latest addition of technology to our chiropractic field called MYOVISION.
What is MyoVISION?
MYOVISION does a spinal examination using sEMG (Surface Electromyography) to evaluate the relative levels of electrical activity associated with Vertebral Subluxation. By using this latest technology we can receive the most accurate information on the condition of your body to better help your needs.
What is sEMG?
sEMG is an acronym for Surface Electromyography. sEMG is a device which measures the amount of electrical activity your muscles release when they are contracting, more commonly known as muscle tension. It is similar in function to an EKG which measures heart muscle activity.
Is it Painful?
Not at all. The procedure is totally non-invasive and does not cause irritation or pain. Because of this it is safe to use on infants, children, seniors, and pregnant women. The examination requires only the placement of small probes against the skin and only takes a few minutes to complete.
How Does This Relate to Chiropractic Care?
Vertebral Subluxations reduce your body's ability to maintain optimal health. When Vertebral Subluxations are present, the nervous system is negatively affected resulting in increases or decreases in muscle activity. The sEMG shows the muscular component of the Vertical Subluxation Complex.
The Chiropractor's job is to detect and correct these Vertebral Subluxations by doing 'adjustments' on your body to keep everything aligned. You can read more about Dr. Brian's article on Vertebral Subluxation here.

Here are Some Sample Printouts from MyoVision

Pink readings indicates moderately high readings. Yellow readings indicates abnormally low readings. Red readings are considered high readings. An arrow indicates imbalance. So an ideal reading would be green bars instead of arrows of a different color. Here is a picture of an ideal reading next to a subluxated patient.
